
Copyright and the University of Iowa
In accordance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), §668.14, § 668.43, (2009) the University provides:
- An annual disclosure regarding legal and policy prohibitions on the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material(s)
- Technical implementations to effectively diminish or prevent the unauthorized distribution of infringing material traversing its network
- Present alternative options to illegally sharing copyrighted information.
The University may refer reports of copyright infringement by students to the Vice President for Student Services for disciplinary action in accordance with the Code of Student Life. Where sanctions are appropriate, they may include loss of user privileges, probation, suspension, or expulsion from the University.
